Ambedkar Memorial
          Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial in Lucknow displays the integration of research and design planning while understanding the community and who may be affected by the design. The final structure can be said is the result from extensive research.

           Proponents of the movement to develop the memorial are advocated for sizable public investments in monumental public spaces, road beautification and with an emphasis on aesthetic and recreational values.

          The memorial will also help in connecting people to community by valuing a site's history and purpose.

           The Memorial looks like a Grand Stupa. The walls of the memorial are embraced by pink marble. The central hall consists of attractive bronze Murals based on the life of Dr. Ambedkar. In the main hall of the Memorial, a large  bronze statue of Dr. Ambedkar seated in hair and facing the two domes.

           A eighteen feet high four-faceted marble statue of Tathagat Gautam Buddha installed here is worth seeing.  Equipped with benches, greenery, flowers etc. it's a peaceful place to discover.

           There are 64 elephants sculpted in sandstone and are installed on the main gate of the memorial. There have been reports of three hundred and fifty Rajasthani artisans have been brought to work for the project. There would be about 3,000 elephant sculptures including both big and small.

This memorial is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Ambedkar, is now the major attraction of the city.

            Foundation stone of the Memorial was first laid in the year 1995. Now the sprawling complex is situated in an area of 107 Acre (4,33,417 Sq.M.) and known as "Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh'. It was opened for public on 14th April 2008 (birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar) by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
